Sharif,

I don't use the programs, but there are plenty of selections by doing a "Google" search. Remember that .mov files are Quicktime files and can be viewed by using that viewer. But to "convert" them to other file types, check at the options at the link below:

Google Search for "convert .mov files to .avi or .mpg "

Hope this helps.

Two methods.

1. Buy the full version of Quicktime from Apple.
2. I can't justify that, so I was happy when Ulead's DVD Moviefactory would covert it to MPG along the way to making a VCD or DVD.

I know of no free tools that can do this. Let alone do it so easily.

Can .mov files be recorded, or burned onto a CD to be viewed on TV,(DVD Player). If so, what kind of CD needs to be used?

Yes there is you can use "mainconcept MPEG Encoder" which lets your change any format ie avi to svcd, avi to vcd etc. If you change your avi's to svcd's you burn them start off with nero6 on to cd
