Create a ringtone on your PC using the free Audacity software. Copy that ringtone to a 2GB microSD card. Insert card into your phone. Now try to import the ringtone to the proper directory. If that doesn't work, you should peruse a Verizon speciality forum such as the Verizon sub-forum @ howardforums. It should work provided that Verizon's carrier ROM has gimped a bunch of the features.
Does anyone have any suggestions on adding my own music as a ringtone? The ones that came with the phone are obnoxious. lol
I've searched and searched for a solution, but nothing works.
It's a Verizon Pantech Hotshot.
One of the recommended ways to have different ringtones is to send yourself a "photo message" and press the "More" button and then "Save as Ringtone". I've tried sending a "photo message" to myself, but the sending always fails. Or, at least, it says it fails. I am able to open up the message I tried sending, but when I click "More" I don't get a "Save as Ringtone" option.
I'd really like to be able to use my own MP3 files as a ringtone, but so far nothing has worked.
