How do you turn on active desktop in win xp?

by snharden / November 5, 2005 4:02 AM PST

Active desktop was turned off by accident. Now I can't find a option in Win XP to turn it back on. With all my years of computing experience I can't find the option anywhere. Can anyone offer up some solutions? Thanks everybody.

your desktop icons are single click and not double click?

If so, open Windows Explorer, or any windows explorer type window, (eg "My Documents"), goto Tools > Folder Options, and under the General tab, select "Single click to open an item". Click Apply, then OK.

I hope that helps.
