There's no unique Android. Each cell phone maker has its own variant and surely his own updates and his own update policies. Please post with more details in our Android forum: http://forums.cnet.com/android-forum/

It will not get automatically updated, you need to update it when the network provide you with the update. Or you can update it manually from here: Phone Tutorials. Select the appropriate and follow the steps there.

Remember to add DISCLAIMERS about Jailbreaks and more. It's a shame to read where folk took this advice and later learned their phone is not covered by any warranty and no one will support them.
