How do I turn off the e-mail notification

by KYmom / May 5, 2009 12:07 PM PDT

I added my Yahoo e-mail add so I could send e-mail when needed, but I don't want the notification in my text. I don't use the text and didn't get the text on my phone. Just want the internet.
How do I turn this off or do I need to delete the Yahoo and just go to Yahoo thru the multi media link when needed?

Also need to know how to delete the yahoo just in case.. I might set up the blackerry mail instead... that way I don't have to worry about recevieng much but can send when I want.

....that you haven't told us a thing about which actual device/service you are working with. Whoops. Let's start with that info. Which handset/wireless provider are you using and which plan/features are you currently susbscribed to(?)

Sorry ..

The blackberry 8310, and AT & T.
I only signed up for the media net package. No text package.
But it seems like everytime I get a e-mail it shows up in text also.
I just don't want to get a shocking text bill down the road for something I am not aware of.. LOL..

Try this (although I'm not a BB user)

There should be a list of the email accounts set up on your device.
Scroll to the one you want to disable notifications for
Now click Change OUT OF HOLSTER to NONE
Next change IN HOLSTER to NONE
Hit escape and save changes when prompted.

If that doesn't work you could try the BB forum here, or (which is an excellent resource, btw).
