Question

How do I Sync contacts from 4S to contacts on PC

by bluecruiser7723 / February 15, 2012 12:12 PM PST

When I conect my 4S to my PC and sync everything ie photos, songs ect. The contacts arn't saving to the default contacts program on the PC. This was never a problem with the 3GS. I can see the contacts on the phone only if I select the 'All contacts' on the phone, which also shows all of the Hotmail contacts. My question, How can I get names and numbers to sync to my computer?
(The good folk at apple store are no help as I'm sure they are instructed not to give to much help on PC's...)

The usual sync of that required Outlook.

Do you have Outlook?

If not, you can use google to see if anyone found alternatives.

Hey Bob,

Yes I have Outlook on my PC but I currently don't use it, maybe if I should be using it to view emails, calanders, and contacts?

That may be the easiest soloution? What are your thoughts?

Answer
what is your default contacts program on the PC?
by Pepe7 / February 16, 2012 12:01 AM PST

Please give that info, along with what operating system you are working with. Knowing the version of the software you are using to manage contacts helps too sometimes.

The default program is called 'Contacts' and is just a simple Windows program, I am using Windows 7.

I don't use Outlook to manage my emails either, maybe if I should be using it to view emails, calanders, and contacts? That may be the easiest soloution? What are your thoughts?

Thanks

I did find the folder called that and sure enough there are contacts there but I see my email software does not use that.

iHi Bob,
if you go into;
iTunes >>>>
Info >>>>
Sync contacts with; Outlook (drop down menu, looks like this)
Google Contacts
Windows Contacts
Yahoo! Address book

That is the Contacts I originally synced to

I'm giving Outlook a run now, allthough it still has the sam delima with not showing the New Contacts I enter into the phone unless I am showing "All Contacts" which shows my "Hotmail" addresses too, which I am trying to avoid having to display!
