at FRY's, Circuit City, or online from NEWEGG.com or Tigerdirect.com. It comes with an interface inside that your drive will plug directly into. Very simple installation. If you get a retail boxed enclosure it will have an instruction sheet. I'd suggest you take your drive with you so they know the size case you will need.
Hi - any help greatly appreciated. I've got a Western Digital 80GB ext. hard drive. The drive itself seems fine but the port for the USB cable came loose and no longer works. I can hear the metal socket jangling around inside the enclosure when I shake it. My understanding is that I need to remove the drive and put it into a new enclosure. Repair people in my area that I've talked to seem uninterested in helping, since I guess it's a small job. Not small to me, however, since I will need some of the files on the drive in a few weeks.
Thanks for any advice. In case it's not obvious, this is all new to me and I really don't want to injure the drive itself.
