Open the Control Panel, double click on "Network Connections", RIGHT click on the "Local Area Connection" icon, choose "Repair".. Do the same for the "Wireless Network Connection" icon.
You can also click on Start-Run, type "CMD", then click on OK. When the command prompt loads, type the commands below, pressing "Enter" after each line.
If that doesn't get it done, try downloading and running the WinsockXPFix tool from the link below.. It will repair the internet connection software and should get you going.
