Resolved Question

How do I or can I . . .

by Coryphaeus / January 7, 2013 11:42 PM PST

change the resolution in my iPhone's 3GS camera? The photos it takes are OK, but the pictures are in the megapixel range. I'm tired of having to re-size them for emails.

Don't think you can do that but,

why is resizing such a problem?

When you email a photo from the iPhone, don't you get the choice of sizes?

Just one click will resize the photo. Tested from 1.7Mb through 516KB, 101KB to 37.3KB

Doesn't the 3GS have that function? My original iPhone did.

I don't email from my iPhone, I save them to my PC and either save or send. Resizing is not a problem just an extra step. I couldn't find an adjustment in the phone, just wondering if I'd missed it.

That adjustment appears

just before you actually send the picture via the iPhone.

You first have to create the email, using the Share options, address it and after hitting the Send button, the options appear.

The full size picture is kept intact, so you can move it to your PC for later viewing/editing
