I had saved all my contacts as a .csv

In outlook express, save by using export to a .csv, mine was in Documents. All I had to do was from Thunderbird, Tools at the top of Thunderbird, import your address book and anything else to save.
WIN7 Home Edition, I have, It is a lot better than Outlook, Outlook express & Windows Live Mail which I had. If that is not an option, print it all out, manually install in Thunderbird. Darrell

Hi Darrell,

You answer a question that isn't asked. The question was about importing mail, not about importing the address book. You wouldn't seriously suggest that he retyped all mail sent and received, would you?

Thanks Guys for the help. Right, I do not have OE, Just Widows Live, which is not listed in the options for transfer. My son did manage to get my address book(minus the names, just email addeys)but so far not the body of my emails. They just do not want to move. Is there a step by step anywhere that would help me?

With the email, just forward them from Live Mail to an email account in Thunderbird. Sorry, I had misread originally, nice catch Kees! Darrell
