Question

How do I connect Samsung smart tv to old Yamaha reciever?

by ongalabongala / January 23, 2013 6:39 AM PST

How should I do to connect my Samsung PS60E6505EU to my old Yamaha RX-385RDS receiver?
I get sound when I listen to radio. I have connected them together with a stereo rca cable and I hear a little "crack" sound when I connect them together, but no sound at all from what is on the TV itself...

Sorry if it was a bad explanation, but I hope someone can give me some help.

Those are inputs or audio into the TV.

Above that you can see the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) so just like everyone else you get an optical to analog convertor next. This runs under 30 USD here.

Thank you for the help! I really appreciate it.

Although, the cheapest ones I found here was about 90 USD...
Do you know if there is a way to connect the receiver via my bluray to the tv? It was a bit to expensive for my taste.
