I need some help with a spyware problem. Starting this morning, I am getting frequent pop-ups indicating a variety of spyware / malware / virus problems - for example, "Torrent link detected". These alerts are not coming from my legitimate antivirus software. I suspect that I have a version of the 'AntiHazard Helper' spyware. The spyware is not allowing me to use a web browser (IE or Firefox). Every time I try, I am hit with pop-ups that do not allow me to proceed.
I am using an HP Presario CQ61 Notebook PC, running Windows 7 Home Program Service Pack 1, with an ADM Athlon 2 Dual Core M300 2.00 GHz processor. I use Avast! antivirus.
I need to know how to remove the spyware. Any help would be much appreciated.
