HDMI inputs not working on Samsung TV

by gregaignon / June 14, 2013 1:53 PM PDT

I have a LN40B550 TV. Suddenly today none of the HDMI input ports are working. I have tried connecting them to the output ports of a Roku streaming video player and two laptops that send HDMI output fine to other displays. The Roku also worked fine when I connected it via the composite video port. When they're connected on HDMI, I consistently get an error message: "The source is not connected. Please check connection again." Is there something in the settings that I could try, to fix this?

Hi Gregaignin,

I am having the same trouble since yesterday. None of the ports are working. What do you think it could be? Have you had any luck yet? Please let me know and i will let you know if i figure something out.

The Ambassador doesn't show up on most weekends so you need to wait or just call it in.

The usual first thing I do is to try other sources and cables. I also will unplug the set (all cables and power) then wait 15 minutes (many say 5 is enough) and then try some source and cable on another set before I try it on the dead hdmi port set.

HDMI ports on Samsung TV
by gregaignon / June 16, 2013 11:32 PM PDT

Hi to S_Ganpot and Bob,
S_Ganpot, thanks for letting me know -- no, no luck yet on the HDMI ports although in my case the composite port is working.

Bob, thanks for the info. I can live with waiting until later today for the Ambassador -- and I will try your suggestions as well. Have to figure out if I have any other displays with HDMI inputs...

Thanks,
Greg

Same issue. Samsung LN40C610N1F.

This exact scenario happened to me roughly two months ago. I unplugged everything for ten min and plugged it all back in, worked fine. Just happened again yesterday and I have not been able to correct it. What ended up being the issue with yours?
