HD LCD TV: does it need antenna or converter box or both?

by SunnyRainbowHeart / January 12, 2010 8:15 AM PST

I just got two HD LCD televisions: a JVC and a Toshiba. I naively thought that if I just plugged it in, I would get a few channels: the networks and a few other "air channels" which are not cable- or satellite-subscription channels. What I got was nada, LOL.

Thank God I didn't throw out my antennas and converter boxes.

Right now I don't want to subscribe to cable or satellite. What must I do with my present equipment? Do I need antennas or converter boxes or both to get television reception?
