Question

Having trouble streaming netflix on my samsung smart tv

by nellee2480 / September 19, 2013 3:49 AM PDT

I never had trouble streaming netflix until I moved. Netflix says that I have an intermittent interference in my connection but all of my other devices work. Is there a problem with my tv?

I have a PN51D6500 smart 3d tv. Netflix worked fine until I moved. Netflix tells me that there is an intermittent connection interruption. I talked to my internet company and tested everything and my connection is fine. I talked to my internet router company and the speed test came out perfect. My download speed is 33.6 mbps and upload speed is 2.63 mbps which is twice as fast as need to run Netflix. Everyone says that there is problem with the tv and the way is is accepting the signal. Not sure what else to do at this point. I have been dealing with this for 6 weeks now. Please help.

Hi nellee2480,

Are you still using the same ISP as before you moved? You may want to change your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. You can do this through menu > network > network status > IP settings > DNS setting (enter manually).

My samsung smart tv 6100 stopped streaming netflix and amazon instant video. Everything else streams fine. Netflix and Amazon stream through the same internet connection on an iPad, Mac Pro and Roku. Samsung rep came to the house and quickly said it was not a problem with TV and left. Remotely Samsung did everything i.e. reset tv and smart hub along etc. makes no sense to me. Any suggestions?

Hi rjbrooks111,

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. Have you tried the DNS settings listed above? Also make sure you date and time settings are correct.

Check the date/time on the TV. It's never been explained why that mattered but others have reported Netflix issues when the TV date/time is wrong.

Ask about resetting the TV and about the Konami maneuver for Netflix.
