Another good site is http://www.poicreator.com . This site allows you to generate your own POI files from local business search data.

I found another free GPS points of interest download site called Gointu at http://www.gointu.com. It is a community run like a wiki that allows anyone to add, edit or delete POI entries. It's quite flexible and it integrates with Google Maps.

I think that www.poifriend.com is the best one out there. Easiest to use and lots of files. They even have ones put on their by the companies themselves so they are very accurate.
