Question

Getting restart message

by donwatts / April 28, 2013 11:44 AM PDT

On my wife's log in she keeps getting a pop up screen that states the computer needs to be restarted by holding down the power key. It will not function until the computer is shut down and restarted. It does not appear when I am logged on. Running Imac
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Using current Norton and SOPOS anti virus. Any ideas where this is coming from?

So you managed to installed TWO anti-virus?

I understand folk are very nervous about a virus but until we find an Apple Mac OS X virus why is this installed and why TWO? The folk that support such should write "There can only be one."

A little more detail is required here.

What is it that your wife is doing when the Restart screen appears?

Can she reproduce the error message at will?

Please remove Norton and Sophos, they do nothing for you except hog your processors resources
