folder disappeared on desktop

by kevindadmun / June 29, 2013 3:59 AM PDT
when I want to save a image from the internet it gave a error. I did not see what that error said. I just ignored it which probably was not a good idea. anyways I tried to save the image again and I noticed that my folder that I save them to is gone. so I tried to show hidden folder option nothing. I even looked in the trash bin nothing. I need that folder back it has more than just image's on it. can someone help me with this. how can I get that folder back.

That XP has an old decade plus issue with "Corrupt Profiles" since this may result in all files on the desktop vanishing, you know better than to run with scissors or no backup copy. There's also XP's helpful(?) desktop cleanup feature. (close out the pop up) and look in that folder and hope it's not another post about no backup or corrupt profile.

You bring up a good point. Should Microsoft have cured the Corrupt Profile issue or should we expect folk to keep their stuff backed up?

Did you search for an individual file you know to be in that folder? If found, you know where it has gone to.
