Firefox 7.01 can not load XREAnti Virus?
by margct / October 4, 2011 12:56 PM PDT

Yes I have Zone Alarm installed. I have finally been able to install Firefox 7.01. by shutting down Zone Alarm and also Avast Anti Virus temporarily while I did the installation. Avast Anti Virus also has virtualization.

I didn't find anything so that's good information from Carol

Your reply does bring up more questions though. You have ZoneAlarm and Avast Anti-virus. Is your version of ZoneAlarm one which also includes anti-virus and anti-spyware scanning? And if so, are you using those components?

I ask because if you have two anti-virus scanners running in the background that can cause conflicts and slow down computer performance.

Tell us more please as a quick Google search for XRE doesn't find much.

Is this an error message? If so, when does it display and what is the exact error message?

I have been trying to update firefox since version5. Evertime I try to update firefox I get a message "update patch could not be applied". When The latest version 7.01 was released I uninstalled Firefox except for personal settings and downloaded Firefox 7.01 from Mozilla Firefox downloads. Then I tried to install Firefox 7.01. I received a message "Firefox could not load XRE". I am using Asus Pro 50Gomputer and Windows 7 operating system.
