Finding web directories- what exactly is it?

by music_happens / May 19, 2006 12:55 PM PDT

I know this is something really simple, but I can't find it.

I'm looking for a file that I am to upload from a sample directory on a certain website. The name of the directory is "sample" I do not have ftp access to the website.... how would I find that file?

what exactly is a directory?

Thanks so much Happy

To get to a directory on a website, just type in the address field on your browser:

http://websitename/directoryname/

For instance, to get to the "Test" directory on Whatever.com, type:

http://whatever.com/Test/

Note the directory name is case sensitive, and the "/" at the end may be mandatory depending on how it is set up.

Good luck!

I tried what you suggested a "sample" directory is no where to be found on www.ipowerweb.com

Here are my directions:

The test file can be downloaded from the Sample directory at rebaterocks.com

WHat the hell is the problem? Am I going crazy?

Thanks
