I see you also posted (and received responses) at the Kaspersky Forum. It's in your best interest to follow one set of instructions at a time. It's counter-productive to do otherwise.
Please first try what they suggest. If after doing so, you find your issues haven't been resolved, feel free to post back. But do give it a chance.
Not trying to discourage you. It really is in your best interest. All malware removal forums will tell you the same.
Best of luck..
I have been having loads of trouble with my computer.
First off, no matter if I'm using AOL, Chrome, IE, or Safari, it is impossible to download anything or click on links. Examples: games I bought from Amazon and applications from legit sites (like trying to download Firefox browser). Each browser I try with has it's own error message. Examples: IE tells me every file I try has a virus in it and has been deleted. AOL/Safari tells me the file has been moved. Chrome tells me that the download failed due to a virus scan fail. This is very frustrating, for I paid money for a game and cannot play it, and I cannot use links or anything.
Second, anytime I even touch Windows Firewall, I get this message: Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings. Or this one: Windows Firewall was unable to make the requested updates. In fact, anything security wise in Windows has an error message of some kind.
Prior to investing in Kaspersky Anti-Virus, I got tons of fishy looking pop ups, from Java updates to other random updates. Those have left since I scanned and restarted the computer, but the computer is still very laggy and slow. It had taken care of 23 apparent threats, but it doesn't seem my computer is fixed.
I'm not particularly PC savvy, as I am usually on my Mac for work. So please be patient as my knowledge is thin.
Can anyone help me understand what the problem is? Any feedback or advice is much appreciated.
