You "may" have a problem installing Snow Leopard, which is an upgrade, onto a drive that does not have Leopard already installed on it.
On the other hand, you may not have any trouble installing SL at all.
Installing on a blank drive is the preferred method of installation as you don't have to deal with all the stuff that is already on there.
What are advantages and disadvantages of installing a new operating system to an erased internal drive, versus simply installing Snow Leopard and letting the software sort itself. ( Tiger 10.4.11 is on a WD 2 T external drive)
