Epson9000 question?

by Kelvin Lau / February 14, 2006 2:31 AM PST

Hi! I got a question about Epson StylusPro 9000 printer, my maintenance tank needs to be replaced, but Epson is trying to charge me $500 to replace it. It's an old machine, also the tank itself costs under $100 which I can afford. I was wondering can I replace it myself, is there any instruction manual that shows me how to install the tank myself. Or anyone has a similar situation, who can give me some advice.

Hi! Bob, thanks for replying. I've just checked the sites about the maintenance tank, and I find out there are avalible for some higher models only like 9600,9800. Seems like service call is the only way.
Thanks anyway!

Way back when I remember a waste bottle on our Xerox would fill up. A clever tech would pull the bottle, dump it into a ziplock bad and then paper towel off the bottle exterior and put the bottle back in. I don't know the 9000 intimate details, but share that tech's method. He never tried to clean out the bottle.
