Emodio Software

by steven_g21 / June 13, 2009 11:08 AM PDT

I got a problem with this software. I was able to install this from both the installation CD which came with my mp3 player and from the emodio.com website. The problem is whenever I try to open emodio, it only shows the logo, disappears in a few moments, then nothing happens. Did I do something wrong or is it the software itself?

Extra details
Operating System: Windows Vista
Sources of files: emodio.com and the installation CD

Emodio Software

steven_g21,

Emodio was deactivated about a month ago, as Samsung is transitioning the software designed to work with the mp3 players.

I've sent an email to see if there are any updates in what will be replacing Emodio.

In the meantime, what mp3 player do you have?

MP3 Player

I have a YP-Q1 which I bought over a week ago. So uhmm, would you be able to suggest an alternate software so I can at least put some games, music, videos, firmwares, and all the things I need for this player? And would you mind if you can keep me on track about a real replacement for Emodio?

Thank you so much for responding. I have been searching for an answer to this ever since I bought my player. I was already losing hope and though I just wasted my 269 NZD for nothing.

Sorry about a double post, but I installed SMS 5 while I waited for your reply as that is what some of my friends suggested to me. Now it functions like Emodio. It does not open at all. What other softwares are out there to help me out?

steven_g21,

I was tempted to upload a copy of SMS v.5, but let's wait until Monday to see what is in the works. I don't want to step on the product manager's toes, but at the same time, I want you to be able to use your player.

Are you able to load music on either through the USB or through WMP?

Uhmm, yes. I am able to use WMP after days of searching for alternatives. Then again, I wanted to at least use my player 90% of its capability so I could be prepared for when the real software comes out. Is something wrong with Samsung's softwares today?

By the way, I contacted customer contact center on Samsung's website asking about the same problem. Here's what they said:

"Thank you for your enquiry, Please check you have windows media player 10 or 11 installed on your pc, this will be needed to make emodio work correctly."

Does this make sense?

Sorry to be rude but do you have any updates about SMS v5 not working? And if possible, could you also tell me what's happening with emodio?

I think I'll just stick to WMP for now. But would it be alright if you could e-mail me when a replacement for emodio comes out? Thank you very much for the help. It's highly appreciated.

steven_g21,

I'm not really permitted to email forum members, and don't have access to that information.

However, when one becomes available, I'll pin the information at the top of the forum. Also, if I can get an advance copy of the software, I'll see about posting a link to it here as well.

I have just been waiting all this time and I just totally forgot about it until now. Emodio is officially discontinued right? So when is its replacement coming out? I'm already starting to regret about buying my MP3 player.

There is a version of Emodio that I received an email earlier today that notes should work.

It can be found here:

http://tinyurl.com/npvaqn

Download the 1.0 version, and not the other one. The product specialist I spoke with today says that she tested it, and it worked for Vista.

I would recommend uninstalling the other versions first.

Keep me posted.

Emodio v1.0
by steven_g21 / June 17, 2009 12:59 PM PDT
In reply to: SMS

It's still not working sadly. I think my situation here is the same as what I have found online while I was looking for solutions. Emodio doesn't run on my computer but it runs on other computers like the ones from the store where I bought my player.

So uhmm, is there going to be a new software at least a day after emodio is completely discontinued on 26th of June? I'm just really worried about my player since it costs a lot of money which I have been saving for months.

OS

My friend's OS is Vista Home Premium SP1
Emodio 1.0 does not work.
Someone of the (german) Samsung Support says that Windows did an update and that she should reset to an earlier point. Of course she doesn't have an older point but she can deinstall each update (the KBxxxxxx where xxxxxx stands for a 6-digit number). But where should she know which update is the bad one?
At my computer (same OS) Emodio runs and we could look for differents in the update list and deinstall each update she has and I have not.

Do you know which update? Any ideas?
