E-Mail, How to get started?

I can't even find a place to get started to set up an e-mail account. Where do I go from here....?

Thanks so much. I have downloaded Thunderbird and now have my old address and everything. I don't know why I was struck, I was using Thunderbird before. I don't understand, just a brain glitch I guess.
