Question

DvdFlick error 53

by snifferpro / January 29, 2012 11:55 PM PST

Trying to author a DVD with 2 movies and a menu. Flick gets up to Author DVD, Generating Mernus and gets Error 53.

I can supply the log file from this error.

If I use Flick for each movie separately they are created fine. It would seem there is a problem with the authoring.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

System is Win 7 64bit Pro, 8gb of memory.

The error alone means little.

It's not a size problem. The two Public Domain movies will definitely fit on a standard DVD.

The error occurs when creating the menus for the 2 movies. The Logfile file says "File Not Found"

How does too large a file generate a "File Not Found" when both files are definitley in
the output directory.

I've retried making the DVD by running DVDFlick as administrator and it ran to
successful completion with correct menus. Same exact movies, same exact settings.

I will try creating another Dvd running as administrator and see if I can consistently create
a dvd with menues without getting an error 53

I had the same problem on Win7 Pro SP1. I fixed it by

- exiting DVD Flick
- deleting the files in C:\Users\<user>\Application Data\DVD Flick
- restarting DVD Flick

I believe that DVD Flick leaves something from a past run.
