Generally drivers/software for these hardware items are backwards compatible. You don't say what happens when you install that V2 driver.
I see from http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=47305 that this question has been asked before, and the answer was, basically, the same.
The reply in that forum links to Netgear's own site here; http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2621 and navigating on from that site I see a download available for the installation manual, (PDF file), and also software for this card, but no v1H2 mentioned. In the manual I see the proper way to connect this card is to install the software first, from the CD that came with the card, then check for updates, then shut down the computer, and only then connect the PCI card/adapter.
Did you do it that way?
Where did you get this from and didn't you get the software and manual with it?
I need a working/correct driver dwnload for the Netgear (RangeMax) WPN311 v1H2 Wireless PCI Adapter (32Bit). I did get one off of the NetGear site, but must've been v2 and have tried to find this v1H2, with no luck. If anyone might be able to help, it'd be very much appreciated! Ho yes, my computer info: Dell Optiplex 745, Wind. XP (SP3). Thanks
