Question

Download from Blue Ray HDD player

by sallyald / July 13, 2013 1:05 PM PDT

Hi,

I have purchase a Samsung BD-F8500 Blue Ray HDD player. I have recorded a TV show to the HDD which I want to post on youtube. Samsung have advised that I cannot transfer/copy the show to another device. Apparently there is a way to transfer/copy by connecting a laptop/tablet to the player via USB and use third party software to convert/transfer the file. Samsung says doing this will void the warranty (bought 6 days ago).

1. Is there such software? What is it callled?
2. Can such software do so much damage I should reconsider the loss of warranty?

Thks.

I maybe wrong here but I think the reason you can't download is because copy protection issue.

Dvd shrink I have used in the old day...but with hi-def, I have no idea if it would work.

Thanks for the tips, will try and let you know. The key at the moment is to show people overseas the show.

Thanks.

Ripping of almost all Blu-Ray content is going to involve DRM issues and more. Check the forum policies to avoid locks.
