I wouldn't recommend a downgrade UNLESS and until you are sure you have ALL the necessary Win 2K board drivers on hand.
Once you have all the proper drivers you set the laptop boot sequence to boot from the CD first.
Then you put the Win 2K installation CD into the CD drive and boot the computer and follow the installation prompts.
Here is a link to a graphical tutorial -
how do you recommend going from xp home to
windows 2000 pro
It says it is a lower version and i cant install it
i tried the fdisk and deleted all the partitions and created a primary dos partition( this is all the options that it would let me do) the i did the format command and it seemed to format it fat32(no options for ntsf)
then i put the 2000 pro cd in and ran setup and it wont install because it states that i am running dos.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND IN THIS DOWNGRADE FROM XP HOME TO 2000 PRO
I HAVE THE RESTORE DISK FOR THE LAPTOP AND I HAVE AN ORIGINAL WINDOWS 2000 PRO DISK.
