Question

by Rovambira / April 21, 2011 6:56 PM PDT

The dektop wallpaper is doubled. Trying to change it gave no results. Restarted the computer several times with no luck. Is it linked to BGInfo?

What exactly do you mean with a 'double background'?
About bginfo: what changes if you don't use that?

Double desktop wallpaper background

When I apply a desktop wallpaper the background image is doubled on the desktop. BGInfo read that it's settings are a possible cause of this anormally.

This may be one for the BGInfo forums here;
http://forum.sysinternals.com/bginfo_forum5_page1.html

It's not an application that is well known here, in fact it is the first time I have seen in mentioned, so there may not be anyone who knows it personally.

But your original idea of uninstalling seems a good idea. If you created a System Restore point before installing BGInfo it might be better to restore back to that point rather than uninstalling. That is because uninstalling may not return the wallpaper properties back to where they were, and System Restore should do that.

I had a look at what BGInfo does. May be it is useful for some, but all this information is readily available anyway, so it is not a utility I would ever consider.

I admit I don't know alot about the system but it could be your setting. In xp go to display properties [right click anywhere on your wallpaper and select properties] then click the desktop tab. Look for the box that says "Position" and see if "tile" is selected. If it is then that is the problem. Select on of the other options available. Worth a try anyway.
