Question

Does the Cookie KP500 have an OS, if so what?

by confusedstudent / December 2, 2012 2:18 AM PST

OK, I am trying to find out what O/S the LG Cookie KP500 uses, after searching around there seems to be a debate as to IF it uses an OS (this don't help me at all!).

Just need to write something in one of my projects on the operation of the KP500.

(I have a feeling I may struggle to find the OS of the Huawei G7105 as well, havent looked yet).

I think you can say it has an OS, otherwise it wouldn't have all the features it has, like a rotating screen, motion sensors, apps, photo editing. But it's just a nameless LG OS, not Android or Windows or iOS.

Answer
It's LG's Java OS.

This OS is a proprietary Java based OS developed by LG. It's fine for what it does but it's very limited in what apps/games you can install on it.

You could research it more but it's been discussed so I'll end with this next link that shows the usual Java MIDP note.
