dfvyhtex.dll missing

i'm running XP on a dell laptop.
after many hours of running various scans to get rid of some trojans and spyware. i think i'm clean. however, on boot up i get the following error

c:\windows\system32\dfvlyhtex.dll can not be found.

what is dfvlyhtex.dll and how do i fix it.

That must be a malware dll that you removed, but is still being called on startup. Because it can't be found, Windows gives this warning message.

Run MSCCNFIG from the Start>Run box, go to the Startup tab and uncheck the line that refers to this dll. It starts with something like rundll32. Then it won't be called.
