I think this time you have to bear the loose of the files and for the next time don't save your files to desktop or on C drive... always save the file in any other drive and if that is a hassle for you to go in those drives again and again.. just make a short cut on the desktop...
I booted my Dell Inspiron 1545 with my iphone plugged in. The screen flashed with a short line of letters and numbers then went dead. I re-booted and was sent to Start Up Repair(Recomended). Then I was told that a device was attached to the computer and it cannot be repaired. I removed the iphone and re-booted and came up with the same answer. After a few attempts I rebooted & pressed F8. Tried Repair My Computer & Last Known Good Configuration and ended up with the same answer. The computer still thinks I have the devise plugged in. I tried the Repair on my Vista instalation disc and it's still the same.
Does anyone think that if I re-install Vista it will solve the problem. I am loathed to do that and lose all my files.
