1. Boot up a LIVE CD such as Ubuntu. No install required and if that works fine then it starts to sound like an damaged OS.
2. Clean the vents and more. I posted about this at http://forums.cnet.com/5208-19681_102-0.html?messageID=3196452&tag=forums06;posts#3196452
3. NO OS NOTED. You may want to reply to your top post with missing details. Any recent infections and more.
I have a Dell Studio 1735 and I am having an issue booting my laptop. Every time I reach the login screen, when I move my mouse to type in my password the computer, it freezes up. I've tried everything. I even started the computer in safe mode, did a system restore which said was successful. When the computer went to reboot, it once again freezes up. I am at a loss as to what to do. I am so not computer savvy. Can someone please advise? Any help would be grateful!
