Question

Crystal Surround Air Track problems with TV - no sound

by EdRambo / January 12, 2013 2:04 AM PST

I have a Samsung TV - model UN46C8000XP and I just got a Crystal Surround Air Track. I used the Optical Adapter (BN39-01154M) as is required and plugged it into my TV and the Crystal Surround Air Track with an optical cable. I changed the TV to external speakers (and tried without this change) and I get no sound . What is the problem?

Sorry but I don't see links but common settings I try are as follows. Look for places to change the audio to PCM, Stereo and others on the TV. Sound bars often are silent if you send them 5.1 sound.

I looked up 5.1 sound and it sure looks like that is what my TV would use. So does this mean that my Samsung TV will not work with my Samsung Crystal Surround Air Track? There must be a work around.

That you look around the menus for a setting to send out PCM or stereo. You bring up a good point. Should each product include tutorials on all things audio and more?

Hi EdRambo,

Sorry that I'm coming late to the discussion. What's your model code for this sound bar?

This is exactly what I did, My model has two audio out jacks. One uses a standard audio jack and the other is the "Digital Audio Out (Optical) which requires the Optical Adapter (BN39-01154M) and this is what I used..

Hi EdRambo,

It's worth trying. Also, make sure you're changing sources on the sound bar.
