Tried Fixing The Problem Using A Registry Edit?
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / July 7, 2011 4:04 AM PDT

1. Click Start, type regedit and hit ENTER.

2. Browse to this registry key:

3. Check if the key contains any of these values (on the right pane). If so, delete them:

4. Repeat steps 2-3 but check for the entries above in this registry key. Once again, if they're there, delete them.:

5. Browse to this registry key:

6. Check if the key contains this value. If so, delete it:

7. Repeat steps 5-6 but now browse to this registry key:

8. Close Registry Editor, restart your computer, and you should be able to access the Control Panel icon mentioned.

Hope this helps.

Grif...It didn't help me. So I restored it took about 2 hrs. to go back 7days. I guess
it was a mess Happy Everything looks normal now. The only problem I keep noticing is
Win IE is acting strange. It keeps redirecting my searches. When I click on a search
it takes me back to the same page or I will get a blank page. I did run melware and cc cleaner.

Thanks for your time in helping me,

It's free for 30 days and tends to do a good job with the redirect problems..

Here's the link:

Hope this helps.

Downloaded Hitman it was a 1 scan and not a 30 day trial. It only found
cookies and you had to purchase to clear that. Maybe I downloaded the
wrong one.

Still 30 Day For Me
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / July 11, 2011 6:29 AM PDT

I tried the steps again just to make sure I was right.. After downloading the file from the link below and running it, it automatically connects to the internet and updates the definitions files.. Once done, it gives you a few screens to pass through, and a license agreement, which gives you the options to choose a one time scan or make a copy to scan daily with..

The license agreement here still mentions 30 days free and it does allow for removal of "bad" items if found.

Hope this helps.
