Question

connecting 2 computers

by Gallowman / June 19, 2013 10:40 PM PDT

Hi all, I have 2 computers and want to connect them via my wireless modem. I have bought a DSL cable and connected it to the modem. My base computer needs to be able to operate my " Slave " computer so I can change settings and retreive and store files. I want first of all to wipe the H/drive on the slave to give me a fresh start. They will both be on XP.. Help please for a dummy.

Thanks, Keith.

By wireless modem, do you mean a Gateway? A Gateway is a modem router combination. Are these desktops? Do they have wireless cards or adapters installed? DSL cable, co you mean Ethernet? More information is needed.

You can configure both PC's to be part of a home network if they are connected to the same router. Then they can access each others disks and printers, provided both are turned on. That's what you want?
