Computer keeps trying to connect to random websites...help

by eheer / October 25, 2004 12:48 AM PDT

every time I launch IE, Zone Alarm alerts me that a .exe on my machine is trying to connect to the internet. The name of the .exe seems to be randomly generated every time I start IE, or at some pre-determined interval while I'm online. I have Spyware Blaster, Hijackthis, and Noadware, but the problem still persisits. I never allow this .exe to connect, but I would love to get rid of it. Any suggetions? Thanks

thanks. actually, i had this problem before I installed noadware. I actully got frustrated one day and figured I would try noadware. Hijack this picks stuff up, but things keep coming back after I "fix" them.

I'll let one of the experts handle this but I would get rid of "NoAdware" and keep your other programs but also add Ad-Adware and Spybot S&D to your repertoire. Scanning at Trend Micro's Housecall wouldn't be a bad idea either. If you links links for these, let me know.
