changing file formats

I am using Windows XP, with WordPad typing software, to write stories with. The problem I have is that the internet will not allow me to upload files, to web-sites, until after I change the format to PDF format. What is the best/safest PDF conversion software, for converting WordPad into PDF? Where can I find the software????

What websites are you trying to upload these text files so? Do they accept other formats than PDFs?
