Canon WA and TFoto extra lenses???$

by studiocarter / January 5, 2013 4:38 AM PST

My camera is a Vixia HF M50. Are the extra lens accessories worth the price like Wide Angle and Telephoto add on lenses?
I like the super low price Vivitar 0.43X Wide Angle Converter with Macro that I have now but I wonder if the Canon would be sharper. It costs a lot more.
I do not like the low low price Digital Concepts Telephoto Converter. It creates a sharp area inside a blurry circle of view.
How well does the Canon Telephoto converter lens function? Is it worth the price. The one I have is worthless for sharp optical telephoto.

The Canon telephoto add on lens was purchased because I saw video on line that used it. Looked way better than mine.

Look at a lens in terms of will I use it? Is it sharp all the way across the field of view? Do colors appear on the edges of white objects especially near the edge of the frame? Lines WILL converge but will do so less with a larger lens. That alone is a good reason to buy a Canon 7D or something like that to put a EF 16-35 1:2.8 L ll onto and shoot video that way. THAT lens is made to eliminate converging lines.

add on lenses

Yea, they are worth it. They are much sharper than cheap add on lenses and the colors do not blur on the edges. The cheap lenses are worth getting if you are only going to mess around and try out things. If you know you will be using or need to use WD and or TL lenses then go Canon Happy

Light bulbs you shouldn't buy

There are plenty of dimmable LED light bulbs, but make sure you don't buy the ones that flicker when you dial them down.
