Running Multiple Programs

Slimjim, How can anyone run multiple programs at once? If you were in a program and the Virus program found something that you brought in or imported, than maybe.
Any more thoughts on this subject besides a simple NO answer?
Thanks,
Kevin

You can but

it may not save any time. When you run them at the same time, they will run slower than if done separately. At least that is what I've found.

The virus and spyware definitions may cause many false positives and or the system locking up.

I do

I have Spybot, Ad aware, and McAfee anti-virus and I often run all three scans at the same time. But at that point you have to walk away and just let the computer run -- whereas if you ran one at a time you could do other work at the same time. but, those are three intensive applications all running at the same time.

Also Spybot and Ad aware may find the same files. If you remove them with one program, then the other can't find them. Not really a problem as I haven't seen either get in a snit about it and lock up or anything -- but two other similar programs might. (there's several anti-spyware programs on the market.)

In either case...

doesn't that make the system pretty sluggish?
