Resolved Question

Can't run exe.

by clem585 / October 18, 2013 12:20 PM PDT

Getting this error when I try to run exe files : http://i.imgur.com/S56GSBm.png

I changed the path in the environment variables a few days before so I think it's why I get this error. I don't know how to fix it though.

if there was any correlation between the two. When you installed Mcafee and when those exe files wouldn't open.

System Restore

No, don't want to get in that trouble if there's an easier solution. Not even sure if it would work anyway (probably).

Never Use a registry cleaner

In reply to: Can't run exe.

as another poster suggested. Most of us don't even know whats in the registry and what they do so why mess with it. Most of the time registry cleaners create problems and Than You Will have to reload or repair the OS. The OS will take care of the registry just fine without us putting our curious little fingers in there...Digger

I'd reinstall Java if system restore doesn't work.

And why not change the path in the environment variables back to what it was?

Didn't try system restore yet as it would be anoying to copy everything I had, and the path is currently back to the original one, still not working.

It is the moment ...

In reply to: Ah.

to RE-INSTALL Java.

Java however has nothing to do with running executable files. If you can't run executable files you have not been able to do ANYTHING on the computer because executables are applications such as your mail client, your word processor, your web browser, your image editors, and also the "registry cleaner" you say you ran.

How about telling us EXACTLY what you are unable to run or use that you previously could run or use because it is apparent that executables are running on your computer..
