Can't play any media files on Samsung LA40B650

by ndbsound / April 1, 2010 2:38 PM PDT

Hi,

Just purchased my LCD 40", and am happy with picture quality etc, but confounded that it won't play any media either over the network or USB drive. It will see the filesfrom both my dnla server and USB thumb drive (eg .avi DiVX, .mp3) but tells me it does not support that media type.

Has anyone else had these types of issues?

ndbsound,

The supported media files are found in the manual. Keep in mind that the video codec, audio codec and resolution must match in the chart. This is for the U.S., and your model may vary.

Also, Samsung customer support can help with the PC Share Manager software, but not with other media streaming programs.

Does that help?

Informative, yes. Helpful... no.

Is your DLNA server the one provided by Samsung? If not, then it may need setting up with a profile for the TV. Check the server user forum for answers.
