can someone tell me if I should uninstall "ATT-PRT22"

by swiftf0x / October 22, 2009 6:41 PM PDT

Hey everybody,

I was looking through my control panel and saw that there was a program I have never seen before in the Programs and Features called "ATT-PRT22" I have already tried searching it on google and found little results.

I am wondering if it might be a program for comcast internet (I recently changed from ATT DSL to Comcast)If anyone can help and tell me what this program is for and whether I should uninstall it, I'd appreciate.

Probably something AT&T installed for your DSL

Was it a USB DSL modem? Could be drivers. You probaly don't need it anymore though, can uninstall it.

From another website:

"Part of AT&T's 2Wire Modem installation. Look for ATT-PRT22 in Add\Remove Programs and delete.

Also, delete the folder "Motive" in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motive after uninstall."

ATT-PRT22

Are you suggesting delete because the installation has already been done, and it's no longer needed - not even for future "support"? There were a lot of files in "Motive" Folder. (As you probably suspect, I'm not a really great computer savvy person!).

Thanks!!

It's been a while

Over two years in fact, so I am unsure if the original posters will respond.

From what I read above, if you were connected via AT&T but now have some other connection, then it is safe to remove all that.

If you are still connected via AT&T, then perhaps it would be unwise.

Thanks, Mark. I'm still connected via AT"&T, so I'll take your advice and leave it!
Thanks, again!
