Read that, do that and tell more. If you are running TORRENT software, yes it will drop.
Can some one help me with this problem? I have a HP dv6449 laptop computer that was working fine wirelessly, all of a sudden I can't get online without being connected by ethernet cable. I'm running XP Pro and the router is a Netgear WGR614v6. I have a Dell desktop computer that is connected to my wireless network and it's working fine. It just drops signal once and a while but once I turn the modem and router off then on, I'm connected again. Now with the laptop I haven't drasticly changed anything to cause the system not to work. When I go to check my activity there is a yellow lock on the packets being recieved (many I'm not recieving any). Also my laptop can see the wireless network at my house and others in it's range, it just will not connect. I have ran out of solutions to try so I need some more, hopefully I am giving you enough detail to answer. Thanks two minds are better than one.
