Can 2 cell phones share the same phone number???

by stevendora / May 11, 2004 3:23 AM PDT

I have a situation where two people each want cell phones that would share the same phone number. Is this possible? If not, what other services would allow patients to contact both of these doctors through only 1 phone number. Any suggestions would help: 800 numbers, answering services, etc,

Thanks

About 8 years ago, this became possible. Your cell phone service provider has the final say.

No...You cannot have two users with the same number, but you get a voice over ip system then you could. Also, two way pagers and have outlook set up to page both the same text at the same time.

and can be done on with all cell phones. The last CES showed a home/office phone system where you walk in, place your cell phone in the holder/charger and all the phones in your house go through it.

Right now, one phone in use at a time. That will change.
