Question

Buying laptop for college international business major

by danieltrios / July 11, 2013 7:04 AM PDT

Hello,
In the fall I will be entering my freshman year of college as an international business major at Northeastern University. I need to purchase a new laptop and there are some specifications. I know that often windows products are claimed to be the best for business does anyone have any advice on this? The specifications for the laptop are as follows

Operating system: Windows 8/Windows 8 pro/Mac OSX mountain lion
Hard Drive: 500 GB HDD
Processor: Dual core CPU
RAM memory: 4 RAM
Ethernet Card: 10/100/1000 gigabit
Wireless Card: 802.11 wireless
Optical Media Drive: DVD-RW
External Hard Drive: 500GB

If anyone has any advice on what would be the best laptop for me to purchase that would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

Use the laptop picker at the top of this forum then come back with what you like.

As your Apple can run Windows, it's a great hardware platform and if price is no object, get the Macbook Pro.

business because Windows machines dominate the business world. There is much more software available for Windows then the OSX. Your specs aren't that high so you could get a decent machine for 500-600. For a business student Office is a must.
