Question

Building a site with minimal development

by nakshatraz / October 17, 2012 11:25 PM PDT

If I'd want to build a 'deals' site say similar in concept to deals2buy, livingsocial, are there any frameworks (paid\free) that would help me get up and running faster than developing from scratch?

Basically what are different ways I can implement a idea\concept with a couple of prototypes, that can be tested out for feedback, with minimal effort and room for changes\adaptations

You can build

something like this using Drupal as your foundation, which will provide you with the:

- Ability to manage users in different roles with different types of access
- Ability to create custom content types, such as deals, businesses, etc.
- Ability to create reports to show statistics
- Ability to do some custom programming to enforce requirements

And then you can either also use this as your website or integrate Drupal with another website (JSON/RSS). Furthermore, you can then integrate Drupal with a merchant and payment gateway to process transactions.
