first search for "VIA chipset drivers", to get-download current motherboard VIA drivers "VIA all-in-one", as it appears you have the VIA drivers but W98SE only has drivers for les than 1998 VIA chipsets, just as older Intel chipsets. This will get your pci-isa-agp controllers-bridges able to use devices.
www.driverguide.com is another large place for all drivers, free registration, so far...

In reply to: VIA Chipsets.

there often is another VIA chip, northbridge, that has the video-sound-etc, and you have to choose which generic driver to get. I often download all that is offered for generics so I don't have to go back. If you install the wrong video generic driver, usually you can uninstall it from add/remove programs and try the next one.
A look at your mobo may show you an S3 chip or other, that is a video chip other than VIA.
