Bought a new HT-BD8200 - have few questions.

by Samsung7Series / August 1, 2010 7:39 AM PDT

I hope samsung techies can help me out here.

I bought the new HT-BD8200 system. I want to pc stream some mkv files using it.

I have following questions.

1) Can it stream or read the shared folders from a "Windows 7" machine?

2) can it stream MKV containing DTS sound? In other words does it decode the DTS from MKV when streaming?

I would be very thankful if someone can answer the following questions.

Thanks a lot.

Samsung7Series,

I'm looking into this. The manual doesn't list Windows 7, as that OS was not on the market when the HT-BD8200 was released. Some users have reported that they've been able to stream using Windows 7, but I'm looking for information or help guides that may be able to assist.

I don't believe DTS is decoded in streaming. MKV files on disc should be supported, however.
